Joining the Community#
AstroCodEx is a community effort, and the repository’s growth and maintenance is made possible by a community of reviewers and maintainers.
Peer Review Community#
If you would like to get involved with AstroCodEx, we recommend joining the Peer Review Community (PRC). Members of the Peer Review Community have access to all solutions and instructor notes/guides associated with the exercises in the repository. You can request to join the PRC after you have gone through the process of submitting and publishing an exercise on AstroCodEx. PRC members are required to serve as peer reviewers for at least 1 submission per year to remain in good standing.
Note that you do not need to be in the PRC to submit assignments! You can see details about submitting to the AstroCodEx here.
If you are interested in joining the PRC and have met the submission requirement, email us at astrocodex@googlegroups.com!
Maintainers#
The overall repository and website is run by a smaller group of maintainers; the current maintainers are listed here. Maintainers serve as editors for submitted assignments, assess viability for inclusion, reach out to peer reviewers, and coordinate style edits and integration of exercises and solutions into the site and repository. They also establish and maintain the usage policies for the site, and keep the website and code bases up to date. As the project grows, we expect to invite additional maintainers from the PRC.
